Perkins EST 2025C(replaces 2024A) Electronic Service Software

Perkins EST 2025C (which replaces version 2024A) is a professional diagnostic application that forms part of the Perkins service ecosystem known as TIPSS. The tool is designed for direct communication with Perkins 2300 and 2800 series electronic engines, commonly used in FG Wilson generator sets in the 300–750 kVA range. It also supports FG Wilson PowerWizard control panels. Communication is handled through the J1939 data link, which is standard for modern industrial and power-generation engines.

This release does not introduce new features or functional enhancements. It focuses on stability and continuity compared to the previous version.

Version 2024C

Automatic Connection Preferences

Users can now configure how the service tool and WinFlash behave at startup. Within the Preferences dialog, it is possible to enable automatic connection when the software opens in service mode and/or flash mode. Both options can also be disabled, allowing full manual control over the connection process.

Version 2024B

No significant functional changes or feature updates were introduced in this release.

Version 2024A

Feature Protection System (FPS) – Default Browser Update

The default browser handling for the Feature Protection System has been improved. After installation or upgrade, the system automatically uses the operating system’s default browser. This removes the need for technicians to manually adjust browser settings. Internet Explorer remains available as an optional selection.

Trainer Update – 995 Large Wheel Loader

The Trainer application has been expanded with the addition of the 995 Large Wheel Loader, providing extra training and simulation capabilities.

Highlights from Perkins EST 2022A

End of Support for Windows 8
Support for Windows 8 has been discontinued. For systems still running Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1, Perkins EST 2020A remains available as a compatible alternative.

Windows 11 Compatibility
The service tool has been tested and confirmed to work correctly under Microsoft Windows 11.

Improved ECM Replacement Configuration
To simplify navigation, configuration items related to ECM replacement, fleet configuration, and product ECM features are now grouped under clear sub-headings. This mirrors the structure used in the main configuration section and makes locating specific settings faster and more intuitive.

Calibration Images
Calibration instructions that include images are now displayed in a split-window layout. Technicians can view illustrations alongside the instructions without opening separate windows. Images can still be opened independently and resized when greater detail is required. Calibrations without images retain the previous interface layout.

Perkins EST is commonly used when troubleshooting electronic engine systems and is especially important during ECM replacement for Perkins 2300 and 2800 series engines.

The software is also essential when replacing or upgrading FG Wilson PowerWizard control modules. New or empty modules can be configured by installing the required database and flash files through the service tool. The application allows dealers to manage firmware updates, install additional language files, and handle customer configuration data. It also supports bypassing PowerWizard third-level passwords when authorized.

Earlier versions of Perkins EST were designed for use on laptops equipped with USB or serial ports and older Windows operating systems such as Windows 2000 or XP. The application is relatively demanding on system resources, meaning overall performance depends heavily on processor speed.

Additional Enhancements in Perkins EST 2025C

1) The WinFlash interface was revised to improve usability and clarity.
2) The Help system was significantly updated with revised and expanded content covering new features.
3) Snapshot functionality was enhanced to allow comparison of data points and customizable graph colors.
4) A Time Mode option was added to Data Log screens, enabling users to switch between PC clock time and elapsed logging time.
5) Trainer applications were extended with the addition of WinFlash functionality.
